60009 Union of South Africa hauls The Jubilee Requiem over the River Tyne on the King Edward VII Bridge and into Newcastle Central station around 2:15pm on Saturday October 25 2014. A day return excursion from London King's Cross celebrating the 50th anniversary of the original rail tour on October 24 1964. Info from The Railway Touring Company: "The Jubilee Requiem was a return trip over the East Coast Main Line between King's Cross and Newcastle. It ran in recognition of the demise in normal service over this route of the A4 Class Pacific steam locomotives. We replicate that trip by travelling the same route and with the same locomotive, No 60009 Union of South Africa."
